Homework in Year 4
In Year Four the children will receive their homework on a Friday. They will copy the homework into the back of their green 'Homework Book'. Their homework will also be available on the school website. Homework should be completed in the front of their books and be handed in by the Wednesday.
Every week the children will need to read to an adult three times a week and this reading should be recorded and initialled by an adult in your child's reading record.
Every week, on two occasions for a period of 10 minutes the children should play on 'TT Rockstars'. This is extremely important as the children will complete their 'Year 4 Times Tables Check' in the summer term. Your child's login is on the inside cover of their homework book and on their green login card.
Spellings will be stuck in homework books on a Friday and should be learnt for a test on the following Friday. Please use previously practised ideas e.g rainbow writing, pyramid writing, putting the spellings into a sentence, clapping out the syllables in each of the words, spelling them with magnetic letters, typing them out etc. Please also practise spellings through games on Spelling Shed (your log in is in your homework book).
Weekly Homework the children will receive at least one piece per week.

The profile needs to include a picture of them, their full name, date of birth, what type of music they play, an interesting fact about them and we'd like to know which songs you listened to or watched- which was your favourite and why?
Example of musicians they could research: Bob Marley, Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Prince, Nina Simone, Beyonce.
