Reflexology

Reflexology & Well Being Techniques

The Rainbow Room at Springfield Primary School is a safe and peaceful place painted in calming colours. Children have a reflexology session lasting between 20-25 minutes with a qualified therapist, Belinda or Angela, once or every other week.

Reflexology can benefit all children and helps to promote balance, peace, concentration & focus within the classroom and at home. It also helps with worries or fears enabling children to more easily overcome potentially challenging situations. Parents may notice changes at home with better sleeping and eating habits, calmer behaviour and more focus with everyday activities.

Reflexology in particular will help with: concentration, strengthening & balancing, anxiety, hyperactivity, dyslexia, obsessive behaviour, general well-being and helping to promote peace.

The Rainbow Room is a place to take a breath away from the busy school curriculum and ‘just be’ or chat with the therapist about anything that may be on their mind. The simple peaceful and rebalancing techniques we teach the children are helpful for their daily life in school and at home.

Pupil and Parent feedback:

"Reflexology means I’ve got someone to talk to  when I get worried."

"He enjoys the sessions and says it’s relaxing for him"

"X loves his sessions in the rainbow room. He came back last week with a big grin and said: I filled a form asking for more sessions in the rainbow room. When I asked if he likes it, he said: They make me feel so calm. Then he added that he loves the foot massage. So thank you all very much."

"He seems happier generally eg. he doesn’t get tense and upset in the morning before going to school or on Sunday night. Generally he seems more positive."

"I enjoy the rainbow room because when I am worried I know I can use the help ideas like the tree."
