Our vision and values are at the heart of everything we do. They support our school’s ethos and underpin our teaching and learning whilst providing an environment which prepares our children to be confident, happy citizens at each stage of their educational journey and beyond.
The values have become our “language for being” - phrases that the children themselves can relate to and a way in which they and the staff behave. As a school, we are focused on what is right for our children. We are confident that our values enhance excellent behaviour and academic progress and achievement. They help us to empathise with each other and work together, as well as helping each individual reach the potential they are capable of by providing experiences that are bespoke to our children’s needs.
Our Mission Statement:
"At Springfield we care, learn and achieve together"
The 4 Springfield Values (see above) have been founded on the previous Springfield mission statement “Caring, Learning, Achieving Together”, which was developed in a similar way, involving all elements of the Springfield community. We are very excited about rejuvenating this as a “language for being” - phrases that the children themselves can say and a way that they, and staff, can be.
The new values have also impacted on our reward systems. After more than 18 years… Marbles are no more! (Gasp). They have been replaced by tokens—with every class having a token stand, with the colours matching each value. Star of the day stickers and new praise certificates have been adapted to match the colours and values. In EYFS and KS1, happy side sticker colours now also reflect the values.
As a school, we are confident that our values will enhance already excellent behaviour and academic performance, help us to empathise with others and work together, as well as for each individual to perform to the potential they are capable of.
Please discuss the values with your child and look out for them with any stickers / praise certificates they receive.
