Springfield Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
WHOLE SCHOOL SAFEGUARDING TRAINING
For academic year 2023/24 all our staff will take part in a whole school safeguarding training event on Wednesday 6 September 2023.
Keeping children safe is EVERYBODY'S responsibility
Who to talk to if you have any concerns:
If you are worried about a child or have any concerns about safeguarding, please let a member of staff know that you wish to talk with our Designated Safeguard Lead (DSL) Mrs A Chard or Deputy Designated Safeguard Lead (DDSL) Mrs P Garbett.
The governor with responsibility for safeguarding at our school is Ms Abdul-Rahman and regularly visits school.
The school number is 0161 973 4149.
If you are concerned about a child and the school is closed please contact Trafford Children's First Response Team on 0161 912 5125 or email firstresponse@trafford.gov.uk
All Springfield staff receive regular safeguarding training. This includes training on the Government's Prevent Duty to counter radicalism and extremism. The Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Lead receive further in-depth safeguarding training at least every two years.
Sometimes school may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. School also participates in 'Operation Encompass', a Police initiative which informs us about domestic abuse incidents relating to any of our pupils.
To further ensure the safety of our pupils, the School operates stringent recruitment and vetting procedures, meaning that nobody commences work unless all necessary checks are complete to a satisfactory level.
