Homework
Each week, children will receive two pieces of homework in addition to their regular reading: a spelling task and one extra activity linked to our current learning. Homework will be sent home on Fridays, either in red homework folders or via a task set on the website. All spelling and topic based homework should be completed and returned by the following Wednesday.
Setting Out Weekly Spellings
As part of their weekly spelling homework, children should copy each spelling word twice into their green spelling book. An example of the expected layout can be found on the first page of the book.
The weekly spellings will also be available on Spelling Shed, allowing children to practise online. Login details will be stuck into the front of your child's reading record by the end of the week.
New spellings are given out every Friday, and children will be tested on them the following Friday.

Red Folder – Pointillism Artwork
As part of our computing lessons this term, we have been creating digital artwork. We have been learning about the artist George Seurat and exploring the technique of pointillism, creating our own artwork inspired by his style. For homework this week, we would like the children to create a piece of pointillist artwork using crayons, felt-tip pens, paint, or any other suitable art materials. The artwork can be of any subject they choose.
The children have chosen either a picture template or a blank sheet of paper to take home in their homework folders and use as the basis for their artwork. Please return the completed homework by Wednesday.

The children will be bringing home a Black History Month activity sheet in their red folder. As part of this activity, they are invited to research an influential person from history. Children can draw a picture of their chosen person in the circle in the middle of the worksheet, write their name and record a fact about them in each of the boxes around the picture. Please return the completed sheet to school by Wednesday. The children will share the person they have researched at the end of next week with a partner to mark the start of Black History Month.
