Addition and Subtraction Methods Year 2
1. Set out the numbers in columns under heading T (tens) and ) O (ones).
2. Always start the calculation from the ones column either adding ones first or subtracting ones first.
3. With addition if the addends total to above ten carry the one ten below the line. If subtraction we go to the tens column to use one of the tens and bring it over to the ones if the top digit in the ones column is too small.
