Number Formation

Please use the number rhymes below to help your child practise writing their numbers. 

Number formation rhymes

Autumn 1

The children in Year 1 have been working on numbers to 10 covering the following objectives:

 

  • counting forwards and backwards, including finding missing number on a number track
  • 1 more and 1 less
  • comparing numbers using < and > and =
  • part part whole
  • addition of two groups of numbers to find a total

 

All of this learning is carried out practically with objects before children do any recordings
