Homework Friday 27th March
Artemis II will soon be launching its first trip around the moon for 50 years! Four specially trained astronauts will launch into space on this epic voyage.
Have a look at this Newsround link to learn more. Artemis Moon mission: Astronauts answer questions about trip - BBC Newsround
Preparing for a 10-day trip into space takes years. One of the most important parts of their training will be about making sure they are physically fit.
For your homework this week, we would like you to design and practise a physical work out that you think would prepare an astronaut for a trip to the moon. Try and practise your workout every day for a week and we will share ideas in class next week. Can you get your family involved? You do not have to record or write anything down. (we have done enough recording and writing this term!)

Homework 12th December
Sorry everyone for the delay. We hope you have enjoyed your weekend so far and had a rest before you begin the final week of your first term in Year 3.
We did want you to have a well earned rest after a busy half term. If you would like to explore different picture books you have at home you can. This is what we are exploring in English. We have been using our Oracy Skills to tell stories about them and think about what the pictures are all about.
So find a picture book at home or any book with pictures and tell a story of your own. Don't forget your different word classes; adjectives, prepositions, noun phrases to extend your sentences when talking to add description.
Where is the story set? Who are the characters? You could always video yourself telling the story if you want to and send it in. This could even be carried on over the holidays if you would like, as there will be no formal homework set.
Also keep reading and don't forget TTT rockstars.

The Stone Age is a period of prehistoric time that spans more than 3 million years. Our Stone Age ancestors achieved a number of major developments during the Stone Age, key inventions that helped humans survive in a harsh world.
Your homework this week is to find out about some of the main inventions from the Stone Age.
In your homework books, draw a labelled diagram of the invention and describe what it does. Please do at least 2 (but you can do more if you like!)
Homework 26.9.25
National Poetry Day is on Thursday 2nd October and the theme this year is ‘Play’. To celebrate the day, we will perform a poem as a class. Your homework for this week is to learn an adaptation of the poem “Just Playing” by Anita Wadley.
You do not need to write anything in your homework books or copy the poem out. Just have fun learning it with your families using your oracy skills. You can add actions too if you wish, to help you remember the lines. You could learn one verse, two verses or three, you choose.
We will rehearse together in school next Thursday and share the poem together.

Please contact us on year3@springfieldprimary.net with any questions.
Class Reps
Every year, class reps are elected (democratically!) to represent their class on various school councils. We have already discussed this with the children and asked them to consider if they would like one of these roles.
On Monday 15th September we will ask the children (if they want to – this is optional, not compulsory) to present their ideas as to why they would be the best person for the role. Please see below for a list of the possible roles and responsibilities.
Please help your child prepare for this if they wish to present on Monday.
