Homework

Year 5 Homework

Year 5 homework will be set each week on a Friday, due to be completed by the following Thursday, when it will be reviewed and marked in class. Instructions for how to complete and record homework will be given in class.

As always, please continue to read at least three times a week and sign homework diaries, which will be checked and signed each Friday.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Supporting Reading at Home

Within our Reading sessions in school we support the children's understanding with our 'Reading Gems' - each of these link to a specific skill and aid the child in developing their comprehension skills.

When reading with your child at home, please ask them plenty of questions in order to support their comprehension skills - below are the Reading Gems, including question stems, to guide these questions.

Maths

For this week's homework we have set a couple of maths code breakers. You can choose to complete Level 1 or 2 but make sure that you are challenged at the right level for you. Enjoy!

Times Tables Rockstars

Please also continue to challenge yourself using TTRS - keeping up with your times tables is so important to developing your maths!

Please find a guide for parents/carers so you can support your child with TTRS at home.

Class Homework

In classes, we have been discussing and planning our weaving for art/DT. The children have planned out their patterns and will need to bring in a selection of wools/materials to use for their weaving on the 20th and 21st July. They know which colours they have planned for. Thank you.
