Volunteers In Springfield.
At Springfield we are very keen to involve our local community by inviting parents, Intergen volunteers, our community members and friends of school into school to help.
If you have time to spare, whether it’s one hour, a morning or an afternoon we would be happy to have you!
We would love you to share your skills with the children - gardening, baking, knitting, sewing, reading a story to the children and anything else you could offer.
Or simply listening to the children read or helping in class is a great help too.
If you are interested please contact Mrs Platt via email on bplatt@springfieldprimary.net and we can organise a time to meet.
February 2026
As part of my role as Community Champion for Springfield, I would like to invite parents/ grandparents/ carers of our pupils to come into school to share their skills. This could include sharing home languages, sharing science/ STEM skills, talking about your religion, teaching sign language or talking about an occupation with the whole class. It could also include working with a small group of children with a particular skill like baking, food tech, fun with food, DT skills, gardening, sewing, crochet, knitting etc. I would like to know the wonderful skills that you have and if you would be happy to come into school to share these with the children. If you are interested, please see the attached poster and fill in the attached form.
Thank you for your cooperation and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
