Testing Magnet Strength

In science this week we looked at a variety of magnets and tested their strength. Which do you think would be the strongest out of horse shoe, button, ring, wand or bar?

Forest Schools Week 2 Barcelona

This week we have learnt about the artist Andy Goldsworthy. We then worked together to make art using nature.

Caroline Dowsett!!

We were extremely lucky to meet a famous person!! After studying Caroline Dowsett in Art, our Art teacher Fiona invited Caroline into our classroom. For homework we thought of 5 questions to ask her then the teachers chose some for her to answer in front of us. During the Easter holidays Caroline had been into school to paint the big wall in the new dining hall corridor and in the corridor so the governors came to watch Mrs Chard and Caroline Dowsett officially open the art work!! What a great morning!

Drumming

This half term we have been having lots of fun on a Wednesday afternoon! We are learning how to play the Djembe drums with a specialist teacher from Trafford Music Service.

Forest Schools

We have now started a new 3 week programme of forest schools. Barcelona enjoyed making bird feeders and exploring in the garden. We particularly liked the mud kitchen!

Science Experiment

This half term's new topic in Science is Forces and Magnets. We looked at friction and tested materials to see which ones have the least and most friction. We wrote down our prediction, our results and conclusion.

Coding.

We were very lucky to have visitors from MGL to teach us coding using Scratch. We all had lots of fun making characters move and linking it to our Manchester topic by adding facts about Manchester.

Seville enjoying Forest School!

Year 3 Seville have been having so much fun in 'outdoor learning' over the past few weeks. We have been learning cooking skills and fire making skills.

Congratulations to Barcelona who performed their class assembly this week - you were amazing!
