Below you will find links to various educational platforms to support home-learning (in the case that you have to self-isolate due to COVID).
We have a plan in place in the event that our bubble has to close and this will be communicated at the time.
Your child will have a login for this website which will be in their reading record.
Children can play spelling games, based on the Year 4 spelling objectives (Stage 4 on Spelling shed).
You will have your home-reading book to practise. Please read as often as possible.
Please use the PDF below to help support your child's reading comprehension at home. On the PDF are examples of the sorts of questions we would ask the children to answer during Guided Reading in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You could perhaps use the question starters to support your child's understanding whilst reading at home.
The Oxford Owl website in the link above, provides some handy tips for how to support the development and joy of reading at home, as well as explain the Year 4 objectives.
It also contains a link for a free e-learning library if you require further reading resources. (https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/)
We use our own weekly plans for Maths but supplement with White Rose and Classroom secrets.
Here is the link to the whiterose maths home-learning. Your child's teacher will let you know which week we are working on.
In Year 4, the children are required to know all of the timestables off by heart. They need to have a ‘quick’ recall of these number facts. We therefore, recommend for each student to use TTRockstars to improve their recall time as well as get used to the format of the Times Tables Government check in May.
This website has lots of number games for the children to play on:
