Reading

Every child has a home-reading book to practise. Please read with your child as often as possible as Reading is the first step to able spelling and writing.

Reading Gems:

Please use the PDF below to help support your child's reading comprehension at home. On the PDF are examples of the sorts of questions we would ask the children to answer during Guided Reading in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You could perhaps use the question starters to support your child's understanding whilst reading at home.

TTRockstars

In Year 4, the children are required to know all of the timestables off by heart. They need to have a ‘quick’ recall of these number facts. We therefore, recommend for each student to use TTRockstars to improve their recall time as well as get used to the format of the Times Tables Government check in Spring.
