Year 2 were all stars in their Christmas production - Let it Shine! We hope that you enjoyed watching it as much as we did performing it.
As part of our history topic 'Our Town Sale', we visited Lark Hill Place to learn all about life as a Victorian. We travelled back in time and visited a Victorian street. It was only right that we were dressed the part, so we were each given old children's clothes to wear. While there we explored a traditional toy shop, a cobblers, a blacksmiths and greengrocers. We walked down a Victorian street and compared it to or our own streets in Sale. We discussed how very different it was in the Victorian times.
Learning about the different jobs people did around the house and also looking at the toys Victorian children played with was really interesting and made us even more aware of how life has changed.
What an exciting morning we had learning road safety! After a fantastic assembly delivered by Ian and Paul, two lorry drivers from Gist, we all went outside to learn more about lorries and how to stay safe around them. We got shown where the blind spots are, what their stopping distance is and we even got to sit in the lorry driver's seat!
