What have we been learning about?

Autumn 2

Today we walked into Sale to observe our 2 minutes silence at the cenotaph. We took this opportunity to relfect and think about all the soldiers and families that have been affected by all wars. We thought of the 5 men, who had been students at Springfield Primary School, who lost their life in WW1. We also laid a wreath and listened to the poem 'Flanders Fields'.

Road safety! 

What an exciting morning we had learning road safety! After a fantastic assembly delivered by Ian and Paul, two lorry drivers from Gist, we all went outside to learn more about lorries and how to stay safe around them. We got shown where the blind spots are, what their stopping distance is and we even got to sit in the lorry driver's seat!

I don't like cricket, oh no. I LOVE it! This term we have been developing our cricket skills with our coach, Toby.

Science 

After learning about Charles Macintosh, an inventor and scientist, who created a new, waterproof fabric we decided to investigate and find out which other materials were waterproof. We then used our findings to design a new raincoat. Here we are working as a team to find out which materials were waterproof and which were absorbent.
