Maths

Our approach to home learning is continually adapting. The Class Teachers of Year 2-5 have all been adding narration to some of the PowerPoints for our lessons. Unfortunately, due to the size of some of these PowerPoints we have had to split them into smaller parts so we can upload them to the school website.

On some of the PowerPoints you should be able to hear some narration. Depending on your computer, it may play automatically or you may have to look out for a speaker icon on each page to hear the narration. You may need to press F5 to get it into slideshow mode. In addition, some parents have found it also helps if you download the PowerPoints.  Let us know through our year group email if you are having any problems accessing this.

Wednesday 29th April 2020.

After monitoring the daily Maths lessons on BBC Bitesize for a few days, we have decided, from next week, to provide some more challenging tasks in addition, for those who would like to have a go.

We have also inserted copies of the Year 2 and Year 3 Maths targets below.  Please note that children will not have been taught all the Year 3 topics yet.  It is not our intention to teach these new topics until we return to school as some children are unable to access the online materials, due to a variety of reasons.  You may want to use some of your Maths time at home revising some of the topics your child is feeling less confident with.

Please can we take this opportunity to thank parents for their positive comments and understanding at this time.  It's wonderful to hear about the continued enthusiasm of your children whilst learning at home.  It fills us with pride!

Please note, most pupils will complete the Year 3 papers, but some pupils will need to work on the Year 2 papers.  There is an Arithmetic paper and a Reasoning paper.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRINT THE PAPERS OUT.  Please just complete your answers in your Homework book or on some paper.  Although a grown-up can help you read the questions, try to do both papers without any help as this will help you learn what sorts of questions you are struggling with.

We will post the answers to both papers on this page on Friday so you can mark your work with your family.

Friday 17/04/20 Please find the mark schemes for your assessments below.  Maybe a grown-up can help you mark your work.

Wednesday 15/04/20 - It has been brought to our attention that White Rose Maths now have lessons and activities available (under Summer Term week 2).  So once you have completed the assessment papers, continue with the new White Rose tasks.  We have removed the daily challenges for now.  Apologies for the confusion.
