Key Worker Bubble 3

🌈 Welcome to the Rainbows class page 🌈

The Rainbowhad a fantastic first week back. We have worked hard with our home learning and taken part in lots of exciting activities. Miss Bailey and Mrs O'Reilly are incredibly proud of the positive start and we can't wait for the weeks ahead! Please follow the updates on this page to see what we've been getting up to!

Mrs O'Reilly and Miss Bailey have thoroughly enjoyed working with our Bubble 3 Rainbows superstars!

Today, we decorated our own photo frames and put our photos inside them as a keepsake of our time together 🌈

 Poetry 📜

As part of our home learning, Year 3 have been writing their own poetry about the weather over the course of the week and the sounds we hear around school. We even added onomatopoeia and challenged ourselves to write rhyming couplets!

Pizza Making 🍕

This afternoon, we designed our own pizza restaurant logo and then created our own pizzas from a choice of yummy toppings. We cooked them in the oven and then enjoyed our delicious creations!

Mindfulness Glitter Jars

On Tuesday, we created our own mindfulness glitter jars. We used plastic bottles that we had saved, filled them a quarter of the way with clear PVA glue and the rest water. We then chose our colours and added glitter to our bottles. We taped the lids on to make sure they were secure and shook them so the glitter, the water and the glue combined. Then, we decorated our own name labels to stick around the bottles. We had lots of fun and now have lovely sparkly bottles on our windowsills that we can pick up when we are worried, need some help focusing or want a bit of reflection time.

VIRTUAL SPORTS DAY - WEDNESDAY 1ST JULY!

Trafford Schools Sports Partnership, has created a Virtual Sport Day for us all to take part in, as of course our usual action packed Sports Days will not be taking place this year. Please find below two narrated PowerPoints which give you 6 challenges to complete. If you are feeling competitive, record your scores and send them in via the Survey Monkey link on the last page. If not, have a go anyway, stay active, stay healthy and have fun! This is a great activity for all family to take part in whatever your age or ability.

Children from Rainbows who are attending school on the 1st July will be taking part in these activities throughout the day! Keep an eye on our page to see how they got on!

Patterned Art 🏫

On Tuesday, we looked carefully at a photo of our school and the different shapes we could see. We drew the outline of our school using shapes and then filled in each space with a different pattern. We cut out our designs and stuck them onto coloured card.

Masking Tape Watercolour Art 🎨

After planning our designs and colour schemes on paper, we applied strips of masking tape in different lengths to our canvases to create interesting shapes and patterns. We then painted our designs using watercolours. Once they were dry, we removed the masking tape to reveal our creative results!

Robotics Workshop 🤖

Last week, we joined in with a robotics workshop - using coding skills and coordination to move our guest robot, Sphero, around a series of different routes and trails! We had a lot of fun!

Ice pops on a hot day ☀️

Bake My Day 🍪

On our first day back, we had lots of fun measuring and weighing different ingredients and following a Cookie recipe. We baked the cookies in the children's ovens then enjoyed our baked goods whilst catching up on Newsround!
