Attendance

One of our values at Springfield Primary School is that “we are motivated to achieve our best” and we believe that if children are to get the greatest benefit from their education in school it is important that your child should be at school, on time, every day the school is open unless the reason for the absence is unavoidable.

Absence Procedures:

If your child is absent you must:

  • Contact us as soon as possible on the first day of absence; a message can be left on the dedicated absence telephone line before 8.45a.m.
  • You may call into the school office and report the absence to the office staff.

If your child is absent we will:

  • Telephone you on the first day of absence if we have not heard from you.
  • Invite you in to discuss the situation with the Headteacher if absences persist.

The impact of absence

Regular, punctual attendance will establish good habits that will support them throughout their lives. To achieve this, the trustees, governors and staff are committed to working in partnership with parents to ensure that every pupil achieves a minimum of 97% attendance throughout the school year.
